Seen the spoof Times?

Seen the "future version of the NY Times" spoof?

This week, 1.2 million fake copies of the New York Times were handed out on the streets of NYC by volunteers working for the Yes Men.

The papers were dated July 4, 2009 and had utopian headlines (and even ads) reflecting a world of monumental positive changes.

This prank, not endorsed by the actual New York Times (though they swiftly covered it) took six months to plan and pull off. It must be seen to be believed.

I'm already a believer.

Have a look for yourself at the online edition hosted at the almost-Times web address: http://www.nytimes-se.com/

(If you heard about this already and are all like, "this is so 2-day-old-news, Ez", my apologies: I get my tips from a man on a solar farm way out in the country... News travels slower out there, but at least it's good news. Big thanks to you Robbie Anderman of Cool Hemp Ice Cream for passing this gem on to me.)

Enjoy your read of the "Times",

Ez
