"Man of Grease" DVD Launch!
Ez Sez Readers,
I'm happy to share the news that my documentary "Man of Grease" (2000), about now-retired Cosmos greasy-spoon chef Tony Koulakis and his first trip back to Greece in 32 years, is now available at www.manofgrease.com.
The DVD is also available at Montreal's famous Cosmos Snack Bar itself (5843 Sherbrooke St. West, corner Draper).
For those in Montreal, we're having a DVD launch event and screening on Monday, December 5th, 2011 (7pm), at CinemaSpace at the Segal Centre for Performing Arts. [Update: Thanks for making the show a sold out success!]
Shown some 46 times across 7 TV networks in Canada, "Man of Grease" has been remastered by the film's editor and DVD designer, Mika Goodfriend, who lovingly compiled 2 hours of bonus features to go along with the original 50-minute movie.
I encourage you to let your mouth water by watching the film's trailer (above) and 3 new outtake clips we've put online for you.
Thanks for supporting hot, delicious and fattening independent cinema...

Junk shop...
Here's a pic from a photo series I shot at a junk shop called "Buy & Sell" on St. Clair corner Atlas in Toronto. The place looked like this in every direction you turned.
Not the place for you if you have any hint of claustrophobia.

Start more art...

I made this the day after 9/11.
It was later featured at Woody Harrelson's web site.
10 years after 9/11, it's nice to see that people are still out there making art. A big shame many are still out there making war too.
We will find a way to stop stumbling into war after war after war. I still have a hunch art is the answer. To all you art creators out there, don't give up.
Love to all from Montreal!

Coca-Cola Cloud...
I spotted this Coke bottle shaped cloud on an early morning walkabout through New York City's Garment District.
Ez Sez... Product placement? Co(ke)incedence? Or just my imagination floating away with me?
If you spot the cloud in your neck of the woods, let me know...

Little Scream Q&A
I was invited to do an exclusive Q&A interview with Little Scream (aka Montreal singer Laurel Sprengelmeyer) for The FreeStyle Life.
It just hit the web today and runs side by side the captivating new video for her song 'The Lamb'.
You can read the interview and watch the video here.
Hope you enjoy!

A recent drawing plucked and scanned from my notepads.
Got a fresh new scanner today, so I'll have more of my "LineDot-ArtText" drawings up on Ez Sez in the coming weeks, months, years...

's
Shot in Toronto this weekend as part of an ongoing series of pix of signs around the world ending with an apostrophe S.
I've been shooting these signs for about ten years and find the whole process kinda meditative.
Sorry it took so long since Rapture to get this latest post out to you.
Happy Fathers Day to all the dads and thanks to all the moms for being so cool too.

Chocorapture...

On the eve of what some are calling Rapture, I created this desert which I'd love to have shared with you (but I ate it all up).
However, I will share that it was definitely rapturous and consisted mostly of a locally sourced peanut-chocolate truffle topped with grocery-grade mint, slow-poured maple syrup, hulled and ballyhood hemp seeds, cinnamon pufflets, a slightly overpriced goji berry, and hand-wrung lime drippins. Served on an uncle's-mom's hand-me-down plate and photographed on a tea-towel buffed range-top with lilacs and apple blossoms blooming out back.
Was it transcendentally delicious? Yes.
Did the world end? Not yet.
If it does, thanks always for being an Ez Sez reader and a friend.
Regards to all from Montreal.

Do you feel the world?

Today, via YouTube, I'm launching Do you feel the world?, a brand new creative work I'm happy to share with you.
It came about when I edited together some of my recent travel/urban adventure photos and set them to music. Specifically, my friend Mike Evin's super-catchy new pop song, "Do You Feel The World?".
I hope you'll enjoy this 'music photeo'. (My friend Jasmine saw the piece and was inspired to coin the clever term.)
If watching it moves you, please share it with others who might get a rush out of it too.
A few other updates (short & sweet):
-Lulu is just over one-and-a-half years old now - cute as ever (and definitely short & sweet)
-My wife Alexandra's doing great - cute as ever too!
-We are developing a few exciting documentaries together (keep you posted...)
-A photo I took last fall ("Kick The Moon"), was recently selected as a winning entry at Le Biennale de Montréal 2011. I'm honoured to have been chosen.
-Last July, I left the Segal Centre's CinemaSpace after running it for three excellent years
-I recently served on the juries of the Yorkton Film Festival and the A&E/National Screen Institute of Canada's online film fest
-Lots of Montreal film/TV industry news, jobs and resources at the Montreal Film Group web site which I run
-Hemp History Week just wrapped up this weekend. Ez sez: happiness through hemp.
That's the news from my side. I hope things are zipping along nicely there too. Always eager to hear your good news and to watch your latest music photeo! Send updates anytime.
Regards to all from Montreal... Keep feeling the world!

Don't be a...
I've always loved the name of this company.
Turns out their "super-pumper" trucks are being used to pump water and cement at the Fukushima reactors.
